LOOK TO THE LORD!
But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me. —Micah 7:7
He talked about his wife being in the hospital. She had been there for quite some time after cancer surgery. The hope was that she would be home soon. It was a very difficult situation. He cast his line into the water as he continued to talk. “I just retired not long ago. This has been very hard.”
Who do people look to when they go through difficult situations? The doctors? Counselors? Friends? Themselves? How do people get through trying times? Do they just bear it? Do they get angry or passive? Do they want to give up? How do you and I handle those tough times?
Life can be so challenging in this fallen world. How thankful I am to know the Lord will never leave me or forsake me (Hebrews 13:5) and that He is with me “to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). I am not only grateful that I can call on Him during trying times, but also that I can thank Him for helping me through them. So many things happen where I can see His hand at work and I am thankful for His intervention. Coincidence, chance, luck or happenstance just does not occur. We understand this when we know the Lord who is Sovereign over all things. Nothing happens without His knowledge (Hebrews 4:13).
Whatever the day brings, good or bad, “I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.” How wonderful it is to know that He is always there… always! He cares and He is working. May you and I trust Him and look to Him today and for the rest of our lives.
I thank You, Dear Father, for Your oversight of my life. It is a joy to know that You always hear me and that You always see what is going on at any given time. Thank You for Your interventions, compassion, care and concern for me!
