OUR LORD KEEPS HIS PROMISES!
“So then, the days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when people will no longer say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt,’ but they will say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the descendants of Israel up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them.’ Then they will live in their own land.” —Jeremiah 23:7-8
It is truly amazing how our Lord brought up the whole nation of Israel out of Egypt all at once and worked through Moses and Aaron to do so.
“The Lord said, ‘I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” —Exodus 3:7-10
What happened once would happen again “when people will no longer say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt,’ but they will say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the descendants of Israel up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them.’ Then they will live in their own land.” Well, today they are living in their own land. It is amazing that our Lord brought the nation out of the land of Egypt and now has brought them back to their land from many nations.
The first exile was in 586 B.C. when Babylon took them into captivity. Then, about 70 years later as prophesied by Jeremiah (Jeremiah 29:10), our Lord brought them back into the land. Then, in 70 A.D. the Jewish nation was scattered among the nations for 1900 years. In 1948 the State of Israel was re-established in their own land. Only two times this has happened just as our Lord said it would. We can be sure that what our Lord says, He will do. So, as we read His Word, be assured that what He says will be done!
And so, there will be a movement one day to glory. Yes, we will be moved to glory with Jesus one day. That is His promise. “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world” (John 17:24). He brought the Israelites out of Egypt. He brought the Israelites back into their land and He will bring us to glory! We can fully count on that!
Yes, Dear Father, may “I cling to what You have to say and seek to be faithful in living out what You desire for me. May this be so, not by my own strength, but by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. May this be so for Your honor and glory. So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E85jTv9EU6E&list=RDE85jTv9EU6E&start_radio=1
