GOD’S PROMISE TO ABRAHAM ABOUT THE LAND
GOD’S PROMISE TO ABRAHAM ABOUT THE LAND
Abram passed through the land to the place at Shechem, to the oak of Moreh. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. Then the LORD appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” —Genesis 12:6-7
At that time the Canaanites and the Perizzites were dwelling in the land… Abram settled in the land of Canaan… The LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward, for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring forever. I will make your offspring as the dust of the earth, so that if one can count the dust of the earth, your offspring also can be counted. Arise, walk through the length and the breadth of the land, for I will give it to you.” So Abram moved his tent and came and settled by the oaks of Mamre, which are at Hebron, and there he built an altar to the LORD. —Genesis 13:7, 12, 14-17
And he said to him, “I am the LORD who brought you out from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to possess.” —Genesis 15:7
On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your offspring I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates, the land of the Kenites, the Kenizzites, the Kadmonites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites and the Jebusites.” —Genesis 15:18-20
So, after Abram had lived ten years in the land of Canaan… —Genesis 16:3
And I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.” —Genesis 17:8
Four thousand years ago God gave Abraham, and his descendants the land. People can argue all they want about who owns the land where Israel is today, but the Biblical record is clear. And, according to the Biblical record, there are those who are occupying the land today that actually belongs to Abraham and his descendants.
When you follow the Biblical record, it is not hard to figure out whose land it is. To say that Israel is an occupier of the land and should not be there is utterly false. But we live in an era where people just say things and others believe it as truth. Just because someone says something about Israel being an occupier of the land and should not be there, or how just saying our economy is doing great, does not make it true. Just looking into these areas shows that is utterly false. What people are presently saying about Israel occupying when they should not be there, or that our U.S. economy is doing well, are just deceptive words being mouthed. How foolish to believe someone without checking the truth for ourselves.
In the end times the 12 tribes of Israel are still mentioned (Revelation 7:4-8). The temple will be rebuilt (Revelation 11:1-2; II Thessalonians 2:4). Those 144,000 of the 12 tribes will be with “the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion” (Revelation 14:1). Again, people can argue all they want, but who will you believe— people or what God says? I will go with what God says.
We live in such a fallen, sinful and broken world. One day, sometime in the not-too-distant future, our Lord God Almighty will make all things new (Revelation 21:1). I look forward to that day, Dear Father. May I live faithfully and run the race you have marked out for me. May I do so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus until I see Him in glory! Yes, may that be so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjZ01FcK0yk
