THE FOOLISH PERSON OR NATION THAT SAYS “THERE IS NO GOD”

“I will make mere youths their officials; children will rule over them.”  People will oppress each other— man against man, neighbor against neighbor.  The young will rise up against the old, the nobody against the honored. —Isaiah 3:4-5

The look on their faces testifies against them; they parade their sin like Sodom; they do not hide it.  Woe to them!  They have brought disaster upon themselves. —Isaiah 3:8

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.  Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.  Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks, who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice to the innocent. —Isaiah 5:20-21

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”  They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good. —Psalm 53:1

             Truly, “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”  When a person, or nation, has this attitude, then—

• They are corrupt
• Their ways are vile
• They do not do good
• They youths become officials
• Their children rule over them
• They oppress each other
• Their young rise up against the old
• Their nobodies rise up against the honored
• Their faces testify against them
• They parade their sin like Sodom
• They do not hide their sin
• They bring disaster upon themselves
• They call evil good
• They call good evil
• They put darkness for light
• They put light for darkness
• They put bitter for sweet
• They put sweet for bitter
• They are wise in their own eyes
• They are clever in their own sight
• They are heroes at drinking wine
• They are champions at mixing drinks
• They acquit the guilty for a bribe
• They deny justice to the innocent
