JESUS IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. —9:2
When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he withdrew to Galilee. Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali— to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah: “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles—the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” —Matthew 4:12-17
We are told in I John 5:10 “that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.” We who have called on Jesus, our Father has “rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:13-14). Our Father “has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light” (Colossians 1:12). Praise God, He has taken us out of Satan’s kingdom of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of light, the kingdom of His Dear Son Jesus!
This world’s people, who Satan is the god of (II Corinthians 4:4), are walking in darkness, in deep darkness. They are blinded by the god of this age, the devil, and they need to “come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will” (II Timothy 2:26). The only way to escape from the trapped captivity of the devil is to call on the Light of the world, Jesus who said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). And of Jesus it is said, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
Have you seen the “Great Light” which is Jesus? Have you heard the message— “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” Have you turned from your own ways and turned to follow His ways. He is the only way under heaven to be saved from our sins to a relationship with the Father through Him and to be with Jesus forever in Heaven. Have you called on His Name? If so, rejoice in all Jesus has done for us, is doing for us and will do for us. If you have not called on His Name, why not do so now? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD6khv6pGkw&t=2s Yes, Dear Father, if there are any reading this today that have not called on Jesus, may Your Holy Spirit convince them to do so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRm6Ayxzo2Y&list=RDfRm6Ayxzo2Y&start_radio=1
