IF GOD IS NOT YOUR TOO PRIORITY, THEN JUDGMENT WILL COME!

IF GOD IS NOT YOUR TOP PRIORITY, THEN JUDGMENT WILL COME!

For we are about to destroy this place, because the outcry against its people has become great before the LORD, and the LORD has sent us to destroy it.” —Genesis 19:13

Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the LORD out of heaven. And he overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. —Genesis 19:24-25

If he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)— if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. —II Peter 2:6-9

The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! —Matthew 6:22-23

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. —Matthew 6:33

If the truth that one believes and communicates are lies— how great are those lies!  We are called to live by the Truth— His Word is Truth (Psalm 119:160; John 17:17) — and so we live according to His Word.  We are to love God— this is the greatest commandment.  The 2nd command is like it— we are to love our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-40).  And we are told here we are to “seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.”  Do these characteristics envelope our lives?

If this is not how we are living then “the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!”  In other words, those who think they are doing what is right when it is contrary to the Word of God are actually doing wrong.  If the right they think they are doing is wrong, how great is that wrong!

This describes Sodom and Gomorrah.  Surely, they thought their ungodly, wicked life-style was right, but indeed it was against the Word of God, against God.  What they believed to be right was absolutely wicked and how great was their wickedness.  The same could be said today about all that are against God, thinking they are in the right, but they are wrong and how great is their wrongness!

Let’s be clear.  God is love and He proved that when He “sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him” (I John 4:9).  Ponder that— the sinless, blameless Creator of all came into this world to take the sinful, wickedness of man He created on Himself as well as all the sorrows and griefs of mankind.  He took our penalty and punishment that we deserved upon Himself so we could live and “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).  But for those who don’t want anything to do with the God of love, then they will suffer the same judgment as Sodom and Gomorrah did— these towns were examples of what will happen to those who want nothing to do with God.

It would be wise, if you have never called on Jesus to save you, to do so.  Otherwise, you will experience the same fate— the judgment of God (Revelation 20:15).  Dear Father, please draw others to Jesus right now by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So may it be!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSAN5ObaRQg
