FALSE ACCUSATIONS HINDER NOT GOD’S PLAN

FALSE ACCUSATIONS HINDER NOT GOD’S PLAN

Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no guilt in this man.” —Luke 23:4

I did not find this man guilty of any of your charges against him. Neither did Herod, for he sent him back to us. Look, nothing deserving death has been done by him. I will therefore punish and release him.” —Luke 23:14-16

A third time he said to them, “Why, what evil has he done? I have found in him no guilt deserving death. I will therefore punish and release him. —Luke 23:22

Two others, who were criminals, were led away to be put to death with him. And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” —Luke 23:32-34

Now when the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God, saying, “Certainly this man was innocent!” —Luke 23:47

Are you feeling really down because of accusations which are not true?  Well take a look at our Savior.  He was totally innocent, righteous and blameless and was falsely accused.  Pilate, Herod and the centurion all acknowledged His innocence.  Even though Pilate wanted to release Him he caved in to the frenzied crowd.  Pilate, with instigation from the Jewish mob, took innocent Jesus and condemned Him to a most tortuous death— fully knowing he was innocent!

Now, what is your situation?  In this fallen world there will be all kinds of things that happen to us.  Unfortunately some of those things come from within the family of God.  It is one thing for these accusations to come from outside the family of God— that is totally expected from fallen man, but when they come from within the family of God, well that is pretty painful.

Let us not think that Satan/demons cannot manipulate those who have professed Jesus as the Christ.  Look what happened with Peter moments after he confessed Jesus as the Christ.

“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah. From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.  Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!” Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” —Matthew 16:15-23

You innocent?  Our Lord knows and you must put your trust in Him as He did His Father.  May we do the same thing when we are falsely accused.  Yes, dear Father may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son, knowing that Your will, even in this, will be accomplished. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPClih1HLPg
