But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. —Acts 1:8

God’s Holy Spirit gives us power.  He gives us power to be His witnesses.  So the questions I have are— “When was the last time you saw His power?  When was the last time you bore witness of Jesus?”  According to this verse above that is who we are to be— witnesses that are empowered by God’s Holy Spirit.

So today, who will you bear witness to?  How will His Holy Spirit work in and through you today?  Will His power to witness be toward a family member?  A friend?  A neighbor?  A colleague at work?  A fellow student?  Someone at the gym?  A drive-through attendant or some other person?  Will you be a witness to someone today?

What does a witness look like?  After being commanded by the Jewish leaders not to speak or teach in the Name of Jesus, Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:18-20).  They could not “help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”  That is what a witness does— tells about what they “have seen and heard.”  It is a form of teaching/proclaiming Jesus.  So… how will you do that today?  Yield to God’s Holy Spirit to empower the creativity He has given you to bear witness for Him.

Yes, Dear Father may we see Your Holy Spirit work in and through us today to bear witness about Jesus.  Yes, may this be done by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yBzIt_z8oY   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYZw0dfLmLk
