DRAWING THE LOST
DRAWING THE LOST
He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.” —John 6:65
“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me.” —John 6:44-45
Brother and sister you did not wake up one day and just say, “Well, I guess I’ll decide to follow Jesus today. People dead in their trespasses and sins have no ability to do this. For someone to come to Jesus our Father has to draw them. If He does not draw them then they will not come to Jesus.
Now, who around us is being drawn to Jesus and what part does our Father want you to take in that process? We don’t know who around us He is drawing, but we do know that He has called us to sow the seed of His Word in people’s lives. That is what we are responsible for—
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”—Romans 10:13-15
Plain and simply God has chosen to work through us in drawing people to Himself. We are to carry His gospel message to the lost. Will you and I be faithful in doing so today? May it be so!
Dear Father please help me to be sensitive to the people around me today. Be pleased to draw the lost to Jesus through me. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idQ1n3cdgfo
