• LOOK TO JESUS!

They traveled from Mount Hor along the route to the Red Sea, c to go around Edom. But the people grew impatient on the way; they spoke against God and against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!”  Then the Lord sent venomous snakes among them; they bit the people and many Israelites died. The people came to Moses and said, “We sinned when we spoke against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.  The Lord said to Moses, “Make a snake and…

  • HEED HIS WORD!

The Lord said to Moses, “Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink.”  So Moses took the staff from the Lord’s presence, just as he commanded him. He and Aaron gathered the assembly together in front of the rock and Moses said to them, “Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?” Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank.…

  • A THE GIFT OF SERVICE AND HOPE

I am giving you the service of the priesthood as a gift. —Numbers 19:7 Hopes placed in mortals die with them; all the promise of their power comes to nothing. —Proverbs 11:7              Where is our hope placed?  Is it in mortals or in the True and Living God?  It is a gift to be a priest of God and every follower/disciple of Jesus is a priest, called to serve Him.  It is not a special class that is the priesthood and wears special garments that are called alone to serve Him.  No, every believer is called to serve Him— “You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual…

  • SURELY JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD

And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died, he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God!” —Mark 15:39              How will we accept, or not, the witness of this centurion?  His testimony is written and included here in God’s Word.  A Roman soldier who was a leader of over 100 soldiers.  He had seen and observed death many times before.  He was a seasoned, professional and disciplined soldier.  When this rugged, hardened soldier “saw how Jesus died, he said, ‘Surely this man was the Son of God!’”              Let’s say you are sitting with this Roman soldier and having a cup of…

  • WE BELIEVE OR REFUSE TO BELIEVE

The Lord said to Moses, “How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the signs I have performed among them? —Numbers 14:11 Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?”  “I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”  The high priest tore his clothes. “Why do we need any more witnesses?” he asked. “You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?”  They all condemned him as worthy of death. Then some began…

  • LIVE HUMBLY

Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth. —Numbers 12:3 “Here now is the man who did not make God his stronghold but trusted in his great wealth and grew strong by destroying others!” —Psalm 52:7 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.  The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity. —Proverbs 11:2-3              Moses… These are some character qualities of one who is truly humble.  Moses had a proper perspective on who he was.  Humbleness is to “not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather…

  • YOU ARE BETRAYER OR FOLLOWER/DISCIPLE OF JESUS

The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.” —Mark 14:21              Judas Iscariot spent almost three years walking with Jesus.  He was a false disciple and “because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it” (John 12:6).  How said that— “Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus. They were delighted and agreed to give him…

  • YES, GOD DOES CARE FOR YOU!

I know every bird in the mountains, and the insects in the fields are mine.  If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it. —Psalm 50:11-12              Do you feel insignificant among the billions of people on this planet?  Do you wonder if God really cares about you among all those people?  “Does He even know me?”  Does He actually care for me?” Do you think like this?              Well, the answer to those questions is “Yes, He does!”  He not only owns the whole word, and all that is created, but He knows everything about everything.  Consider this—…

  • REDEMPTION AND ETERNAL LIFE ONLY THROUGH JESUS— CALL ON HIM!

No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them—the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough— so that they should live on forever and not see decay….  But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead; he will surely take me to himself. —Psalm 49:7-9,15              When God’s Holy Spirit convicted me powerfully, I knew that there was nothing I could DO to be saved from my sin except to call on Jesus to forgive me and save me.  No amount of GOOD WORKS could save me.  Just because I thought that I was not as bad…

  • KNOWING AND APPLYING GOD’S WORD IS FOUNDATIONAL TO THE DISCIPLE OF JESUS!

Jesus replied, “Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God?” —Mark 12:24 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”  “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” —Mark 12:28-31…
