WHAT OUR LORD STARTED IN YOU; HE WILL BE FAITHFUL TO COMPLETE IT!

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. —II Timothy 1:6-7

He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. —II Timothy 1:9-11

Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. —Psalm 90:2

May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands. —Psalm 90:17

What is our Lord saying to us today from these passages?  May we hear and lovingly obey what He is saying!

  • We are to fan into flame the gift of God given to us
  • His Spirit does not make us timid
  • His Spirit give us power
  • His Spirit gives us love
  • His Spirit gives us self-discipline
  • He has saved us to a holy life
  • He has saved us not because of anything we have done
  • He has saved us for His own purpose and grace
  • His grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time
  • This grace has been revealed through the appearing of our Saviour, Jesus Christ
  • Jesus has destroyed death
  • Jesus has brought live through the gospel
  • Jesus has brought immortality through the gospel
  • Like Paul we are appointed to proclaim the gospel
  • All this was planned before the mountains were born
  • All this was planned before He brought forth the whole world
  • We need His favor to rest on us
  • We need Him to establish the works of our hands for us

Take heart!  The works He has for you will be done as you follow Him— “because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:5-6).  The confidence that the work He has given us will be done as we have partnership in the gospel!  Am I a partner in the gospel?  May it be so, Dear Father, by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus for Your honor and glory and for the benefit of many others.  Yes, this is my desire and so may it be to lift Your Name up and not my own! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNjZlHARnEk&list=RDeNjZlHARnEk&start_radio=1
