NOW IS THE TIME!
NOW IS THE TIME!
Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. —II Corinthians 6:1-2
Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered. —Proverbs 28:26
And so it is with salvation— the one who trusts his own mind is a fool, but the one who trusts the gospel of Jesus Christ is wise. The one who trusts in his own mind is not open to the Mind of God—
The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. —I Corinthians 2:14-16
Yet when a person calls on the Name of the Lord for salvation from sin and to relationship with Him, then they can have the mind of Christ. This is so because their minds are being renewed and their lives are being transformed. When God’s grace comes to a person they need to receive it. They may not get another opportunity because “now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” Grace is God’s favor upon a person. Think about it— when the grace of God appears to a man, they need to act on it or they may miss the opportunity forever!
God is the One who causes light to shine in the heart so a person can understand the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and call on His Name (II Corinthians 4:4-6). To not act upon that Light when it is given one is in danger of being in the kingdom of darkness, the domain of Satan, held captive by him to do his will for life and then to spend eternity in hell (II Timothy 2:26). Yes, when God’s grace comes to a person, they need to act on it immediately. Here is what He has done for you— https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYZw0dfLmLk&t=2s. Those who THINK they are good are in deep trouble. People need to trust what Jesus has done for them at the cross— and then out of gratitude to live for Him according to His desires revealed to us in His Word, the Bible. So, if you have never called on Jesus for salvation… NOW is the acceptable time to do so! Then live according to His Word.
Dear Father if there are those who are reading this that have not called on Jesus yet, may You encourage them to do so now. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!
