THE JOY AND DELIGHT OF HIS WORD

When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, Lord God Almighty. —Jeremiah 15:16

And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe. —I Thessalonians 2:13

Jesus told us that “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).  Can you and I truly say about God’s Word that “your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, Lord God Almighty?”  May it be so!  May we be like Mary “who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said” (Luke 10:39) and then be like the wise man of Matthew 7:24-25

“Who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”

And who can we thank God for—

“Because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.”

Indeed, for others to receive the Word of God, we need to be bringing it to them for—

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” —Romans 10:14-15

Yes, may we faithfully “feeding” or listening to His Word regularly, applying it to our lives and may we be faithfully bring His Word to others.  After all, it is the “the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe” and we can trust God to do the work He desires to do in our own lives and in the lives of others.

Dear Father, please help me to be faithful in listening and applying Your Word in my own life and then bring Your Word to others, trusting Your Word will work in their lives as well.  Yes, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So may it be!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zaaiFp4RSM&list=RD9zaaiFp4RSM&start_radio=1
