GOD HAS THE CLIMATE UNDER CONTROL!
And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. —Genesis 1:14-16
Man is so fickle. In the 1970’s global cooling was the immediate crisis we had to act on because if we did not do something we would go into an ice age. Then the crisis we needed to act immediately on was global warming because we were going to be flooded by rising seas. Now fickle man uses the term “climate change.” I don’t get moved by these terms that change with the times. Instead, I will put my trust in the Word of God that does not change.
Tell me, please, how many thousands of years has the moon been orbiting the Earth? And time is still synchronized by it! Or how many millennia has the Sun been orbiting and still the time of day can be known by it! It is pretty simple when you look at the plain truth. It is these stellar bodies that impact the climate of the earth just as they do night and day. “He made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down” (Psalm 104:19).
Those that say the earth is going to be flooded are contrary to what God’s Word says— “I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth” (Genesis 9:11). “To me this is like the days of Noah, when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth” (Isaiah 54:9). God did judge world by a world-wide flood once (Genesis chapters 6-9), but the next time He judges the world it will be by fire, not water (II Peter 3:10).
As long as the Earth exists seasons and climates will continue— “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” Hmmm… climate will change just the same as it has from the beginning of time and no amount of false communication about it will change that. We were created to be caretakers of the world which is God’s property (Genesis 26) and we will give account to God for that.
Here we are in the first day of 2020 in the “year of our Lord.” Let us go into this year with full assurance that He is the One who “holds all things together” (Colossians 1:17). Be comforted in this as the sun shines during the day and the moon at night. Seasons will continue to the end of time. That is what His Word says. Now, will you go by fickle man’s word or God’s? I will trust God’s Word over man’s always.
