GO TO THEM SO THEY CAN CALL ON JESUS!
GO TO THEM SO THEY CAN CALL ON JESUS!
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good. The LORD looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one. —Psalm 14:1-3
Why does the fool say in his heart “There is no God?” It is because they are corrupt and want to do “abominable deeds” and that which is not good. They want to do what they want to do and they do not want anything to do with God. People with this mindset are capable of doing anything, regardless of how vile it may be. When God’s Holy Spirit is not controlling a person, then they have the propensity to do any evil thing. That is true of anybody.
That is why people can blatantly lie, deceive and manipulate others without blinking an eye. They have no problem doing so if it accomplishes what their selfish intentions are. This is the fallen world we live in and it should not surprise us at all. Sin’s powerful, delusionary bondage is satanically motivated. People need to “come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will” (II Timothy 2:26). They need to understand that Satan “has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God” (II Corinthians 4:4). But they cannot understand unless God makes His light to shine in their hearts to give them “the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ” (II Corinthians 4:6). So, brother and sister, “we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord” (II Corinthians 4:5).
“There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit. The poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” —Romans 3:10-18
People do not understand and none are good. So, brother and sister, fellow followers of Jesus, it is our responsibility to bring them the good news because—
“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” —Romans 10:14-15
We are sent ones. Jesus said, “As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world” (John 17:18). Jesus has sent us to be His witness (Acts 1:8) and disciple-makers (Matthew 28:16-20). Are we being and doing so? Will we? Oh, Dear Father, may it be so in my own life and for those who may be reading this. May we seek to be faithful witnesses and disciple-makers in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXIBP2BdYR8
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” —Romans 10:13
