SERVE OUR LORD AND NOT OUR OWN APPETITES!
I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. —Romans 16:17-18
I do not sit with the deceitful, nor do I associate with hypocrites. —Psalm 26:4
A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much. —Proverbs 20:19
Whether it is gossips, hypocrites, the deceitful or those who cause divisions— they are all seeking after their own appetites and are not serving our Lord. So, let us take an inventory of our own lives. How are we consistently living? Is it to serve our Lord Jesus Christ or our own appetites? Are we being—
- Too talkative?
- Betraying confidence?
- A gossip?
- A hypocrite?
- Deceitful?
- In opposition to God’s Word?
- An obstacle?
- Divisive?
Those who live are governed by these surely are not serving our Lord Jesus Christ and are people we to “keep away from.” Oh, Dear Father, help us to be discerning and walk with those who truly seek to serve our Lord Jesus and not their own appetites. May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. Oh, may I be more like Him! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGob0mk7QSA&list=RDtGob0mk7QSA&start_radio=1
