SING PRAISE!

SING PRAISE!

“Do two walk together, unless they have agreed to meet? Does a lion roar in the forest, when he has no prey? Does a young lion cry out from his den, if he has taken nothing? Does a bird fall in a snare on the earth, when there is no trap for it? Does a snare spring up from the ground, when it has taken nothing? Is a trumpet blown in a city, and the people are not afraid? Does disaster come to a city, unless the LORD has done it?  “For the Lord GOD does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.  The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken; who can but prophesy?” —Amos 3:3-6-8

And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” —Revelation 5:9-12

Are we in step with our Lord, united with Him, abiding in Him and being and doing what He desires?  We read in Ecclesiastes 12:13-14— “Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.  For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.”  Oh, that we would be in step with Him “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:12-13).  Yes, may we be in step with Him!  We will give an account to Him!

The answer is obviously “no” to the first seven questions asked in the Amos passage above.  And then, “The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken; who can but prophesy?”  Be aware of the roaring Lion for He, the Lord, has spoken and for those of us who have heard we cannot retain what He has said.  We are constrained out of our love for Jesus to speak!

We who love Jesus seek to proclaim His Name, the work that He has done on the cross, through the resurrection, how He ascended, the promise of His return and the salvation He offers to all who believe and call on His Name (Romans 10:13).  Jesus, “you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.”  As priests, every believer, every follower of Jesus— we “are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy “(I Peter 2:9-10).  And so let us do so!  Declare his praises!  Share His salvation!  Sing His song!  Yes, Dear Father, may we do so and all for Your honor and glory by Your Holy Spirit’s power and in the authority of Your Dear Son, Jesus.  hhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSM96OA39ic
