SEEKERS OF THE LOST
SEEKERS OF THE LOST
My sheep were scattered; they wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. My sheep were scattered over all the face of the earth, with none to search or seek for them. —Ezekiel 34:6
“For thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness.” —Ezekiel 34:11-12
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” —Luke 19:10
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. —I Peter 2:9
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” —Acts 1:8
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” —Matthew 28:16-20
These verses are very clear! God has a heart for His lost sheep! Do we? Do I truly have a heart to reach those who do not know Jesus and share with them the good news about Jesus?
So he told them this parable: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.” —Luke 15:3-7
Jesus Himself came to this earth “to seek and to save the lost.” Now He has sent those who claim Him, who follow Him, to do the same. He called us to be His witnesses— to share with others who He is and what He has done. Are we? He has called us to make disciples. Are we? How are you involved in this? Who are you seeking to share the gospel with? Who are you seeking to disciple? How are you looking to “proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light?” Time is running out. Go to those He desires you to and share the good news and disciple them so they also will make disciples. Every follower of Jesus is responsible for this and we will give an account to Jesus of our obedience or disobedience. Let’s serve Him as He desire so that we would hear— “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Luke 19:17). Oh, Dear Father, may I live for you in such a way that I hear those words. May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. Yes, so may it be and all for Your honor and glory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLDEt9KP2O0&list=RDBLDEt9KP2O0&start_radio=1
