HEART’S FOCUS

HEART’S FOCUS

And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding. —Jeremiah 3:15

Your ways and your deeds have brought this upon you. This is your doom, and it is bitter; it has reached your very heart.” —Jeremiah 4:18

May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ. —II Thessalonians 3:5

Shepherds, who are after the heart of our Lord, “will feed you with knowledge and understanding.”  They not only feed with knowledge alone, but they give understanding in how to use or apply that knowledge which brings transformation.  If people are not applying that knowledge the shepherds of the Lord are giving, then they will be living by their own knowledge and understanding… whatever that might be.

There is a great danger when people are not understanding and applying what the Lord’s shepherds are teaching.  “Your ways and your deeds have brought this upon you.”  Going our own way and not the Lord’s way, taught by shepherds who have a heart after His, will not end well.  Our heart is going to be filled with His will or our own will.  Which “will” are we following?

It was Paul’s desire, as a shepherd, to have “the Lord direct (believer’s) hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.”  Is that what we desire?  Do we really hunger to know more of God’s love?  Are we wanting “the steadfastness of Christ?”  This is a heart issue.  Where is your heart?  Who or what has your heart?  Dear Father, may my heart be after You in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yb8WZ2ND4BY
