THE WISE KNOW, THE WICKED DO NOT

THE WISE KNOW, THE WICKED DO NOT

“At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” —Daniel 12:1-4

Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand. —Daniel 12:10

There is coming a time of great trouble on this planet which has never been seen before.  But for those who are in His book, they will be delivered.  The wicked will not understand, but the wise followers of Jesus will understand.  In Revelation 17:8 we read—

“The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and yet will come up out of the Abyss and go to its destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because it once was, now is not, and yet will come.”

The wise who are written in His book will rise “to everlasting life” and those who are not written in His book will rise to “everlasting contempt.”  In Matthew 25:46 it is put this way— “Then they (the wicked) will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”  It is said of the wicked— “Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”  This time is coming!  Our Lord has given us, fellow followers of Jesus, the responsibility to tell others and encourage them to call on Jesus to be saved (Matthew 28:18-20; John 14:1-6; Acts 1:8; Acts 4:12; Romans 10:13-15).  Oh, may we be faithfully obedient to His call on our lives!

We are told in the end times that “Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”  Knowledge today is doubling so quickly—

“Industry Tap writes, “Until 1900 human knowledge doubled approximately every century. By the end of World War II knowledge was doubling every 25 years. Today things are not as simple as different types of knowledge have different rates of growth. . .  But on average human knowledge is doubling every 13 months.” And that rate will increase exponentially. IBM theorizes it could someday become every 12 hours.” https://www.peterlundell.com/the-knowledge-doubling-curve/

But there are those “who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth” (II Timothy 3:6-7).  This is a sad and a sorry state as we look at our “educational systems” and see this being the case.  People are learning, learning, learning… much of it is nonsense and meaningless and the vast majority of educators “suppress the truth by their wickedness” (Romans 1:18).  People are learning, learning, learning but never coming to a knowledge of the truth!

But you and I, brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, rest on the Word of God and His authority.  Let us never be moved from it as our culture crumbles around us and the world seeks to press us into its mold or conform us to its pattern (Romans 12:).  Yes, Dear Father, please help us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Awesome Son, Jesus.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tlc3i7oJ-uc
