KING JESUS’ KINGDOM IS EVERLASTING
I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed. —Daniel 7:13-14
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth! —Psalm 57:11
Jesus will reign over His everlasting kingdom which we, brother and sister, fellow follower of Jesus, are part of! God’s glory will be over all the earth and all in His kingdom will exalt Him. This everlasting kingdom will never be destroyed… never!
We are now part of His kingdom, but there is coming a day—
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” —Revelation 21:3-8
One day we will be with Him forever in that perfect place where we will only know love, righteousness, peace and joy! Rejoice all you saints of God. The best is yet ahead! But for those who do not call on Jesus to be saved (Romans 10:13), “they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” For them, this life is the best they will ever know—the closest to Heaven they will ever get. For us who know Jesus, this life gives us a glimpse of Heaven and is the closest to Hell we will ever get.
So, fellow follower of Jesus, let us rejoice and be glad. Jesus is preparing a place for us (John 14:3). Wow… keep our eyes on Jesus as we run this race with perseverance that He has marked out for us until we are home! Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Dear Son, Jesus. So be it!
