JESUS— MY LIFE AND LIGHT— MY GUIDE

For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light. —Psalm 36:9

Mark the blameless and behold the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace. —Psalm 37:37 

And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you. —Luke 10:6

            Jesus is “the bread of life. Whoever comes to (Him) will never go hungry, and whoever believes in (Him) will never be thirsty” (John 6:35).  And so, Jesus said, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.  By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified” (John 7:37-39).  Yes, He quenches our thirst!

            “In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:4-5).  As we spend time with Jesus, in His light— in His Truth, then we will see light— we will see Truth.  Yes, Jesus is our life and He is our light.  So let us faithfully live the life He has given us and let us bask in His light— His Truth and we will see Truth.  He Himself is the Truth (John 14:6).

            Now, as we live for Him, He can show us, help us to sensitive to and find “the man of peace” (Luke 10:6).  “There is a future for the man of peace.”   These are the ones we need to ask our Lord to shine His light on for us, to identify them for us.  We cannot do this on our own.  Our Lord has to show us.  He has to bring them into His light so we can see who they are and then we can encourage them to trust Jesus and live for Him.

So, Dear Father, please help me to be sensitive to those You show who are those people of peace that will follow Jesus and be blameless and upright in Him.  I cannot identify these people on my own.  I need Your guidance and so I trust You will give it through Your Holy Spirit and by the authority of Your Son who is my life and light.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bo9ZWX1lEKI&t=1436s
