MY ROCK, FORTRESS, GUIDE— MY LORD!

MY ROCK, FORTRESS, GUIDE— MY LORD!

For you are my rock and my fortress; and for your name’s sake you lead me and guide me…  Love the LORD, all you his saints! The LORD preserves the faithful but abundantly repays the one who acts in pride. Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD! —Psalm 31:3, 23-24

The Lord is my Rock and on His Word I will stand— “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.  The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because its foundation was on the rock” (Matthew 7:24-25).  As I follow what He says I can have the confidence that He is leading me and “He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake” (Psalm 23:3).  He promises to lead— “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you’ (Psalm 32:8).  I can trust His guidance fully.

The priority in my relationship with the Lord is to love Him.  This is true of all the saints, all those who have called on the Name of the Lord to be saved (Matthew 22:37-40; Romans 10:13).  And His love is the umbrella over all of life.  He is our purpose for living, in living and we are to be strong in His grace (II Timothy 2:1), we are to be courageous (John 16:33) and we are to wait on our Lord (Psalm 27:14).

So are we…

  • standing on the Rock, safe and secure as we follow His Word?
  • confident that our Lord is leading us?
  • being strong in His grace?
  • being courageous?
  • waiting on our Lord?
  • fully confident in Him?

We can be absolutely assured that He “preserves the faithful.”  Yes!  He protects us, watches over us, guards us and keeps us.  We can be fully confident in that!  So, brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, let us live in this confidence!  Yes, Dear Father, I am so grateful to know I can trust You fully and that Your are guiding me.  May I be faithful in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Precious and Beloved Son, Jesus.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cx9-LkuVWt4 So be it!
