GOD IS AND IS NOT SILENT!
For this time I will send all my plagues on you yourself, and on your servants and your people, so that you may know that there is none like me in all the earth. For by now I could have put out my hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth. —Exodus 9:14-15
But as for you and your servants, I know that you do not yet fear the LORD God. —Exodus 9:30
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. —Psalm 19:1-4
Evidence? A person needs evidence that God exists? Creation screams out His presence. Past and present judgments reveal that He is in control and we are not. When He judges the world in various ways it is to show that there is none like Him. His judgments are to get the rebellious and wicked people’s attention. He is giving them opportunity to acknowledge Him, to repent from their sin and turn to Him. But even when He brings judgment there are many who will just harden their hearts and seek to grind out through the judgment. Oh, that they may call out to God. But for many under judgment they call out for the moment and it is not to have relationship with Him. They only want relief and when the difficulty passes they forget all about Him.
God could cut any nation or people off from the earth at any time if He so desired, but He desires relationship with people. He wants to save people from their sin and to an eternal relationship with Him. He wants to save them from this sinful, fallen, dark and satanically manipulated world to a perfect world with Him— one with no more tears, death, mourning, crying or pain (Revelation 21:4). He is always at work seeking to get people’s attention to the Truth and away from the eternally destructive deception of Satan.
Not only does He work through judgments He brings to the earth, but His very creation is a day by day and night by night reminder that He exists. No place on the earth can escape the message that creation communicates. There are no excuses for not believing He exists (Romans 1:20). The problem is that the design of wickedness, Satan’s and man’s, is to suppress the Truth. The darkness of wickedness seeks to extinguish the Light of Truth, but it cannot. The Truth about God is ever present and when men cannot suppress it, they just reject it and go their own way. This is so sad to reject the God who seeks to give them the joy of eternal life in a perfect place.
Brother and sister, fellow follower of Jesus, let us rejoice that we know Him, are loved by Him, love Him and seek to serve and honor Him. And… let us seek to encourage others to know Him as well. Yes, let us bring the Light of the gospel message to others today and for the rest of our lives that they can escape satanic bondage and experience the freedom that Jesus gives. Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Precious and Blameless Son, Jesus. So be it!
