TRUST GOD TO ACCOMPLISH WHAT HE DESIRES THROUGH YOU!

But Moses said to the LORD, “Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.” Then the LORD said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.” But he said, “Oh, my Lord, please send someone else.” Then the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses and he said, “Is there not Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Behold, he is coming out to meet you, and when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. You shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth, and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth and will teach you both what to do.  He shall speak for you to the people, and he shall be your mouth, and you shall be as God to him. —Exodus 4:10-16

Ever make excuses as to why you cannot do what God wants you to do?  Have you ever excused yourself from God’s desires for you because you’re not a “great speaker?”  This could be just speaking to a neighbor, friend or relative about Jesus.  You keep from doing so because you may not have the right words to say or you do not have the confidence in a particular situation to speak.  Or it just may be you are fearful because of who the person is.  Moses had all these excuses.

Actually, when Moses was making all these excuses as to why he couldn’t do what God was asking him to do, God got angry with Moses.  Wow… do we want God angry with us?  Will He get angry with us if we are disobedient?  Well, I remember what Jesus said— “You unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me” (Matthew 17:17).  It does look like God is surely patient, but there is a time when His patience runs out.

Have you ever wanted God or asked God to send someone else instead of you?  The reason may have been you just did not want to do what God was asking or you just did not have the confidence to do so.  But… Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.”  Knowing this should give us confidence that if God is going to call us to do something then He will enable us to do it!  May we be faithful to His desires for us.

Even though Moses still had his brakes on and did not want to do what God desired him to do, God was gracious to him and gave him a teammate to serve with him.  Moses’ brother, Aaron, would be Moses’ spokesman.  Moses would share with Aaron what God would want said and Aaron would speak.  God would teach them both what to say.  How patient God was with Moses!  What grace He extended to Him!  God knew what Moses needed and He provided for the need. In this case the need was for Aaron to be the speaker.

Let us trust God to provide what we need to accomplish what He has called us to.  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Dear Son Jesus.  May we trust You for what You desire to do in and through us.  What You desire to do You will do!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ODe4sGCKxc
