SAFE FROM SATANIC FURY’S FINALITY
And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!” —Revelation 12:11-12
Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. And he stood on the sand of the sea. —Revelation 12:17
Fellow follower of Jesus, we have overcome by the blood of the Lamb and there is evidence for that as we bear witness through the word of our testimony. Those who know Jesus will be His witness as He stated in Acts 1:8.
“This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” —I John 5:2-5
At some point in the future Satan’s fury is going to come upon this planet. It will be a time of great tribulation. Many of the saints will die. Remember, Satan is “the god of this Word” (II Corinthians 4:4). He is the “the ruler of the kingdom of the air” (Ephesians 2:2). He is the “evil one” and the world is under his control (I John 5:18-18). Very, very difficult times will come upon this world because of him. His time is getting shorter before he is thrown into the “lake of fire” —- “And the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, into which the beast and the false prophet had already been thrown. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever” (Revelation 20:10).
Satan’s wrath will be directed toward Israel and “on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.” These obedient followers of Jesus prove their love for Him by their obedience to Him (John 14:15, 21, 23-24). Even now as Jesus’ follower we have to be “alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (I Peter 5:8). “But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God” (I Corinthians 6:11). “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life you inherited from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or spot. He was known before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in the last times for your sake” (I Peter 1:18-20). “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39). We are safe in Jesus! Satan’s schemes and fury cannot change that.
