I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. —Luke 15:7

Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents. —Luke 15:10

When was the last time you rejoiced over someone who repented and called on Jesus to be saved?  How awesome this is that when “one sinner who repents” causes rejoicing in heaven!  Angels know the joy in heaven when a sinner repents!  When was the last time you knew there was joy and rejoicing in heaven because of someone calling on Jesus to be saved?

First… when was the last time you talked with someone about Jesus to encourage them toward Him to trust Him?  Do we see people as lost and headed for hell?  Is there any passion in our lives to share the “good news” with anyone?  When was the last time you told anyone anything about Jesus?

Good Friday was yesterday.  Why is Good Friday called Good Friday?  It is good because through Jesus “a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body“(Hebrews 10:20).  It is Good Friday because now we can enter right into the presence of God because of Jesus being “the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world” (I John 2:2).

Good Friday brings the Good News because now “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).  So, we need to encourage people that “they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds” (Acts 26:20).  Oh, may we do so and not keep this to ourselves!  Repentance will be proven by actions that follow because of repentance.  Oh, that we would share this Good News with someone today and desire to every day!

Dear Father please give me more of a passion for those who do not know You.  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So be it!
