THE BATTLE IS THE LORD’S!

THE BATTLE IS THE LORD’S!

The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” —I Samuel 17:37

All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.” —I Samuel 17:47

Our Lord is ultimately in control.  We are not!  We may think we are, but that is not the case.  Yes, we have responsibility to carry out, but that is only under the sovereignty of our Lord God Almighty.  How those two works together, God’s sovereignty and our responsibility, is something our puny brains cannot fully understand or figure out.

How is it that a young boy can kill a lion and a bear with not much more than his hands? So too how can this same young non-warrior boy have victory and kill a life-time warrior who is about four feet taller then he and much more weightier?  How is this possible?  It is because “that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”  It is by the Lord’s hand that victory or defeat entails and not by our own.  He will work in and through us, but victory comes by His might, not our might.

So whatever “giant” situation you are facing… remember… it is our Lord God Almighty who is ultimately in control.  Trust Him to work out the details that He has planned and be sensitive to what He desires you to be and do in the midst of your situation— which is really the situation He has brought or allowed to happen… for His purposes (Romans 8:28).

Yes, Dear Father may I trust You for whatever situation comes upon me.  May I do so for Your glory and honor and for Your purposes to move forward.  Yes, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So be it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xOCRYENXTk
