EXPECTATIONS FOR FOLLOWERS OF JESUS
Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.” —John 13:20
Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them. Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?” Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me. —John 14:20-24
Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. —John 15:20-21
Jesus came to “seek and save the lost” and we are to do the same thing as well. Pray and ask our Lord to show us the ones who will listen to us and accept Jesus. By accepting Jesus they will also be accepting the One who sent Jesus, His Father. Yes, look for these people.
The one who has His Word and keeps it is the one who truly loves Him. Those who love Jesus will also be loved by His Father and Jesus will reveal Himself to that person. The one who truly loves Jesus will be obedient to what He has to say. Those who do not love Him will not obey what He has to say.
We are to be like Jesus and in doing so we can expect opposition. Just as He was opposed so we will be. Do not be surprised at this. But there are those who were obedient to the teaching of Jesus and He said there will be those who will be obedient when we teach His Word as well. Persevere in this race He has marked out for you and me!

- Seek out those who are receptive to us and to Jesus
- Those who truly love Jesus will be loved by our Father and His Son
- Those who are obedient to Him are those who truly love Him
- We are to be servants like Jesus
- Living for Jesus will bring opposition
Dear Father may I truly seek out the lost. Be please to guide me to those people who will truly love Jesus and be obedient to Him. Thank You for Your great love for us! May we be serving like Jesus did and know that when opposition comes You are with us and never will forsake us. May we live in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.
