A NEW EARTH AND HEAVENS ARE IN OUR FUTURE!

But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. —II Peter 3:9

            He promised this is going to be case and He will carry out His promise.   Beloved, think about this— there is going to be a “new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.” Evil will not exist anymore!

            You and I will not have wrong thoughts anymore. We will not have wrong actions anymore. Forever we will be and do what is right in our Lord’s sight.   This is the promise He has given us!

            Those who know Him surely long for this day! Oh, yes, even so come Lord Jesus! We cannot even begin to imagine what it is going to be like living in a perfect place where sin, evil and death do not exist!  

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.  I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.   And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.” And the One seated on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” Then He said, “Write this down, for these words are faithful and true.”  And He told me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give freely from the spring of the water of life.  The one who is victorious will inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he will be My son. —Revelation 21:1-7

            Oh how I long to be with Jesus and all who love Him in that place! Beloved, let us keep the end of the “race marked out for us” in view. There will be a finish line. Life on this earth for us will come to an end either by death or our Lord’s coming.   Yes, let us keep our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. May this be so until we see Him face to face.

            Knowing this ending we are encouraged to live faithfully for Him today and the rest of our lives. The day is drawing nearer. We will see Him and all who love Him in that glorious place. Yes, Dear Father may I live faithfully now for You as I wait for that day when all things will be made right. Oh how I long for that day. Oh how I long to be made completely right. Oh how I desire to see Jesus there. Yes, even so come Lord Jesus!
