OH! TO BE WITH JESUS!

OH! TO BE WITH JESUS!

“Lord, where are you going?” And Jesus replied, “You can’t go with me now, but you will follow me later.” —John 13:36

How badly do you want to be with Jesus where He is? Your answer will give some indication about your present relationship with Him. Why wouldn’t a person, who loves Jesus, not want to be with Him in heaven, our home? To have little desire to be there, or no desire, gives indication of little or no love for Jesus. It gives indication that the relationship is unhealthy or non-existent. So how much are you looking forward to being with Jesus and all who love Him?

The Apostle Paul had a great desire to be with Jesus, but he was torn— “If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, (Philippians 1:22-25). The only reason the Apostle Paul wanted to stay on the planet was for others. He wanted to help in their spiritual maturity and joy in the faith. Wow! Is that our goal as long as we are living on this planet? May it be so…

Dear Father, please work through me to help others mature in the faith and experience the joy that You give through Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son. May it be so!
