OUR GREAT HIGH PRIEST— JESUS

He is the kind of high priest we need because he is holy and blameless, unstained by sin. He has been set apart from sinners and has been given the highest place of honor in heaven. Unlike those other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices every day. They did this for their own sins first and then for the sins of the people. But Jesus did this once for all when he offered himself as the sacrifice for the people’s sins. The law appointed high priests who were limited by human weakness. But after the law was given, God appointed his Son with an oath, and his Son has been made the perfect High Priest forever. —Hebrews 7:26-28

Jesus is the Great High Priest. He:

· Is the kind of High Priest we need

· Is Holy

· Is blameless

· Is unstained by sin

· Is set apart from sinners

· Has been given the highest place of honor in heaven

· Is unlike other high priests

· Doesn’t need to offer sacrifices every day

· Offered Himself as a sacrifice once for all

· Offered Himself as a sacrifice for people’s sin

· Was appointed by God with an oath

· Is made the perfect High Priest forever

Death comes to us all except for that generation of believers living when Jesus comes back. Talking with people yesterday, one of which is close to death, and strongly encouraging them to trust Jesus. Oh how sad when people are on their deathbed, unresponsive with having had so many opportunities to have trusted Jesus, but as far as I know, they have not done so. How sad!

May we never grow weary in sharing the good news with those around us. Their response is their responsibility. Our responsibility is to love people and share the good news with them. May we do so today!

Dear Father, thank You for Jesus being our Great High Priest and the finished work He accomplished at the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. I am grateful and may I so live my life in such a way that reflects this gratitude
