TRUST HIM IN THE STORM

TRUST HIM IN THE STORM

And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” —Mark 4:36-41

How would you feel?  What actions would you take if you were in a storm and it was so bad that he boat was starting to fill with water?  What would you be thinking?  Well, we know what the disciples were feeling, thinking and how they were acting.  They believed they would all drown.  They wondered if Jesus cared.  They believed this storm would be the end of them.  They were afraid!  Would you be?

But when they woke Jesus He put the wind and sea to sleep… still… serene.  After bringing about a calm Jesus asked them “Why are you so afraid?” and “Have you still no faith.”  They had been with Him long enough and should have known who He was.  Imagine the Creator of the Universe in a boat with a storm surrounding it.  Does one need to be afraid?  But then they still wondered, were filled with great fear and said to each other—- “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”  Apparently they still did not understand just who Jesus was/is.

Are you in a storm?  Do you feel like you are going to die?  Remember, the Creator of all things is with you.  He said to those who trust Him that He would never leave us nor forsake us and that He would be with us to the end.  The storms of sickness or even death are storms of life that we go through, but we are not alone.  There are times when we may think Jesus is sleeping, but He is always present with us.  Take comfort in that and realize He will carry out His plans and purposes in and through your life.  Will you trust Him? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuVNGUXZQ1g&list=UUf1NPIFOBwzTLVQiEDnq4Cw&index=14

Dear Father I am grateful to know that Jesus is always with me regardless of what I am going through.  May I fully trust Him whatever storm may come my way.  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.  So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5g4mEfQcRW4
