JESUS IS THE ONLY ANSWER!
You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever. Those who desert him will perish, for you destroy those who abandon you. But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do. —Psalm 73:24-28
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. —Romans 5:1-2
“At this point many of his disciples turned away and deserted him. Then Jesus turned to the Twelve and asked, “Are you also going to leave?” Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life. We believe, and we know you are the Holy One of God” (John 6:66-69). Who have I in Heaven besides the Lord God Almighty? Only Jesus brings us into peace with God. It is only by faith in Jesus that we are made right with God. The cross and resurrection is the pivot point for eternity. Those who truly trust Jesus will turn from their own ways and follow Jesus (Mark 2:14; Luke 9:59; John 1:43; John 10:27; John 12:26; John 21:22). Who else in Heaven do we have that has taken the penalty and punishment for our sin to give us peace with God, to give us eternal life, to give us the ability to truly serve God now and to have the great hope of Heaven when we die? There is no one else in Heaven but Him— no one (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).
Fellow follower of Jesus, take time right now to praise the Lord God Almighty for Who He is and for what He has done for us. Yes, let us praise His Name!
Dear Father, thank You for the guidance You give day by day. May I be sensitive to the direction You would have me go, to speak to others about You as You desire and may all this be for Your honor and glory. May it be so in the power of the Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
