BE READY!
In the last days… Go into the rocks, hide in the ground from the fearful presence of the Lord and the splendor of his majesty!… The Lord Almighty has a day in store for all the proud and lofty, for all that is exalted (and they will be humbled)… People will flee to caves in the rocks and to holes in the ground from the fearful presence of the Lord and the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to shake the earth… They will flee to caverns in the rocks and to the overhanging crags from the fearful presence of the Lord and the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to shake the earth.—Isaiah 2:2, 10, 12, 19, 21
This day is coming. In the last days people will be “fearful presence of the Lord and the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to shake the earth.” There is a day when our Lord will come back to this earth and—
- People will hide in the rocks
- People will hide in the ground
- People will want to get away from the fearful presence of the Lord
- People will want to get away from the Lord’s splendor of His majesty
- People that are proud will be humbled
- People that are lofty will be humbled
- People will know that He has come to shake the earth
Yes, that day is coming sometime in the not too distant future. You may still be living when it happens—
“I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place. Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?” —Revelation 6:12-17
Yes, that day is coming, but even if you are not alive, you will still appear before and be in the “presence of the Lord and the splendor of his majesty.” Will you be fearful or full of joy? Those who have never called on Him will be fearful. Those of us who have called on His Name will be full of joy unspeakable! You may scoff at the thought of being in the presence of His splendor and majesty, but be assured, if He doesn’t return first, you will die and appear before Him. You might resist that truth just as much as you resist the truth that you are going to die, but just as surely that you will die, you will surely also appear before Him.
