USING HIS RECOURCES ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSES AND WILL
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: “They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.” Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. —II Corinthians 9:6-11

Oh, that we would ask our Lord God Almighty to give us a willing spirit, not only to give according to His will in the area of finances, but in every area. Truly, “for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose” (Philippians 2:13). So today, what is God willing you to be and do? May we be obedient in “His good purposes.” He gives us joy. He sustains us. We need to be lovingly obedient to His will.
If our Lord God Almighty desires us, according to His will, to give in the area of finances, or any other area, may we sow generously. May we not act “reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” And we can trust God that whatever actions He wills for us that He “is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: “They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.” Yes, so let us faithfully serve Him in His purposes for us and in accordance with His will. Again, remembering, that He will “equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (Hebrews 13:21). So let us “not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:2). Yes, Dear Father, may we know Your will and joyfully be about Your purposes, applying the resources You have given us properly for Your honor and glory.
