REDEMPTION AND ETERNAL LIFE ONLY THROUGH JESUS— CALL ON HIM!
No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them—the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough— so that they should live on forever and not see decay…. But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead; he will surely take me to himself. —Psalm 49:7-9,15
When God’s Holy Spirit convicted me powerfully, I knew that there was nothing I could DO to be saved from my sin except to call on Jesus to forgive me and save me. No amount of GOOD WORKS could save me. Just because I thought that I was not as bad as others could save me from my sin either. Nor thinking that I was really a good person. God’s word is clear “As it is written:”
“There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit. The poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” —Romans 3:10-18
And there it is— the plight of all humanity. We are all in the same boat… a boat that is sinking down to the depths of eternal hell and separation from God forever without a Savior. Jesus is that Savior as Joseph was told before His birth— “You are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead; he will surely take me to himself.” The good news is that God has done this through His Son for “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” And we can have complete confidence in what Jesus did for us—
“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.” —I Peter 1:18-21
Are your faith and hope in God through His Son Jesus? He is Your only hope to be saved! The finished work of Jesus at the cross and through the resurrection is the only way to God.
