THE PRIORITY RELATIONSHIP!

If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.  Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple…  So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple. —Luke 14:26-27, 33

            Who is your priority relationship?  It is seen by understanding what relationship is most important in our life.  We love our parents, but our Lord Jesus must come first.  We love our spouses, but our Lord Jesus must come first.  We love our children, but our Lord Jesus must come first.  We love our brothers and sisters, but our Lord Jesus must come first.  We love our own life, but our Lord Jesus must come first.

            When our Lord is our priority relationship, then our love for our parents will be in proper perspective.  When our Lord is our priority relationship, then our love for our spouses will be in proper perspective.  When our Lord is our priority relationship, then our love for our children will be in proper perspective.  When our Lord is our priority relationship, then our love for our brothers and sisters will be in proper perspective.  When our Lord is our priority relationship, then our love for ourselves will be in proper perspective.

            We are to have Jesus as our priority relationship to be His disciple and we are also to be about His work as we follow Him, regardless of how difficult it may be, to be His disciple.  It comes down to renouncing anyone (including ourselves) or anything as top priority.  Jesus is to be our Lord, Savior, King and Friend that is most important in our lives and loves.  If He is not, our lives will be skewed from what it should and could be.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYkZE8AogDE
