TRUST… AS A CHILD!

TRUST… AS A CHILD!

But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” —Luke 18:16-17

It is generally fairly easy to gain the trust of children.  Unfortunately, it is this trait that many use to abuse children and hinder children from coming to Jesus.  Jesus said, ““Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.”  People love to say, “It’s all about the children.”  But, in reality, it is all about the adults.  Adults keep children from coming to Jesus.  They will encourage children to get involved with many things, things that are even evil, but they will not encourage them to trust Jesus.  There are so many who do this including—

  • Many parents
  • Schools
  • Governments
  • Criminals

Instead of emulating the trust that children have, adults are untrusting and multitudes of them will not trust Jesus and will not enter the kingdom of God.  They not only do not enter themselves, but then they hinder children, and other adults from entering as well.  Jesus made it very clear when He said, “Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”  Do you have that type of trust?

Some people wrestle with trusting God and have doubts and questions that keep them from following Him.  I have accepted His Word from the beginning and all it says about Him.  I have not questioned His Word.  I may have questioned my understanding of it at times, but His Word is His Word and I do not doubt that.  It is a matter of trusting what He says to the point of living it out.  Oh, may I be more faithful in that.  Yes, Dear Father, may it be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus, my Lord and Savior, King and Friend.  So be it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6fA35Ved-Y
