PROCLAIM THE FINISHED WORK OF JESUS!
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete. —I John 1:1-4
My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. —I John 2:1-2
We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. —I John 2:3-4
I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes. In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin. —Psalm 36:1-2
Why did Jesus leave the glories of heaven? Why did He allow His own creation to kill Him; nailing Him to a wretched death on a cross! He did this so we would come to hate our sin as we realized what He has done for us.
Brothers and sisters, dear fellow followers of Jesus, this is the message we are to proclaim just as the Apostles did. We proclaim the Word which became flesh— Jesus (John 1:1-3; 1:14) and that He is the atoning sacrifice, the propitiation, the sacrifice that pleased God and so the sins of all people could be forgiven— if they call on Him and appropriate His forgiveness (Romans 10:13). When we call on Jesus, we have fellowship with all believers everywhere!
It is a great joy when a person calls on Jesus. So great is that joy that “I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:10). When a person realizes what Jesus has done and calls on His Name, then there is a desire to be faithful and follow Him. Surely, “Whoever says, ‘I know him,’ but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person.” Indeed, “I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes. In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin.” How sad that is. But, brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, just as we called on Jesus when His message was proclaimed to us, there are others that will hear when we proclaim the message and believe. So, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). Proclaim the message! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3sNyZ1RSEk
Dear Father, please draw those who are reading this to Jesus if, indeed, they have not done so yet. And for those of us who have called on Jesus and are following Him, please help us to faithfully proclaim the message to others. May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. Yes, so may this be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tlc3i7oJ-uc&list=RDTlc3i7oJ-uc&start_radio=1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3sNyZ1RSEk
