HOPE (confidence and expectation) IS IN mY LORD’S WORD
Do not be stiff-necked, as your ancestors were; submit to the Lord. —II Chronicles 30:8
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. —Romans 15:4
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. —Romans 15:13
Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. —Psalm 25:5
Dear brothers and sisters, fellow followers/disciples of Jesus, our hope (confidence and expectation) is in our Lord. He is the only One who will never fail us. He is the only One who will completely do what He says. So, let us submit to our Lord and not be stiff-necked as were some of those in the past. Let’s not be so in the present.
Instead, our hope (confidence and expectation) is in God’s Word. Again, what He says, He will do and we can depend on that 100%. His Word—
- Teaches us
- Shows us what endurance looks like
- Encourages us
- Gives us hope (confidence and expectation)
- Fills us with joy
- Fills us with peace
- Shows we can trust Him
- Gives us hope (confidence and expectation) through His Holy Spirit
- Guides us into truth
- Gives continual hope
Now, why would we be stiff-necked and not listen to what His Word says? Why would we not want the hope (confidence and expectation) His Word gives? Oh, Dear Father, may we listen to Your Word and be faithful to Your desires. May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. Yes, please, may this be so for Your honor and glory! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNZFctND4jY&list=RDXNZFctND4jY&start_radio=1
