THE WORD YOU CAN FULLY TRUST— AND IT IS NOT MANS!

THE WORD YOU CAN FULLY TRUST… AND IT IS NOT MAN’S!

In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me? —Psalm 56:4

In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me? —Psalm 56:10-11

Let me ask you a question— “In whose word are you trusting?”  “I trusted in the Lord when I said, ‘I am greatly afflicted’; in my alarm I said, ‘Everyone is a liar”’ (Psalm 116:10-11).  Paul repeated this truth when he quoted a Cretan prophet in Titus 1:12— ““Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.”  That statement is not just about Cretans, but can apply to the whole human race.  It is a common thread throughout God’s Word as this truth is mentioned in Micah 6:12— “Your rich people are violent; your inhabitants are liars and their tongues speak deceitfully.”  Can you say, “I have never lied?”  No, you cannot…

So, let me ask the question again— “In whose word are you trusting?”  News commentators get caught lying very often.  Are you truly trusting what they are saying.  Are you putting your confidence in man?  Personally, I will measure everything by the Word of God.  He is the only One that can be fully trusted.  I will put my trust in Him and not be afraid.  “What can man do to me?”

This is what Jesus said, “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).  We are not to fear man that can only kill the body, but we are to fear God who can not only destroy the body, but then can send to hell all those who need to “come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will” (II Timothy 2:26). If they do not come to their senses then they will hear from Jesus— “Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41).

So, I ask one last time— “In whose word are you trusting?”  As for me, I will trust in the Word of God and I hope and pray that you do as well.  The only alternative is to trust in those who lie… and that doesn’t seem reasonable at all.  So, “In whose word are you trusting?”  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD6khv6pGkw&t=235s

Dear Father, I will trust in Your Word by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqWYSyDZYIg
