GOD ALONE OPENS MINDS TO UNDERSTAND HIS WORD!

Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures… And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high. —Luke 24:45

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. —John 16:13

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. —Acts 1:8

A person may read the Word of God, but they cannot understand it unless He opens their minds so they can.  A person cannot even come to Jesus “unless the Father who sent (Him) draws them” (John 6:44).  Jesus opened their minds to understand the Word of God that spoke about the purposes of God.  Then He told them to stay in Jerusalem until they received the power of the Holy Spirit which would be given from on high.

The Holy Spirit would guide His followers “into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”  He also would “prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: about sin, because people do not believe in me; about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned” (John 16:8:11).

Brothers and sisters, you fellow followers of Jesus, praise God that He brought us to a point to open our eyes and draw us to Jesus.  Without His working in our lives, we could not know Him or truly understand His Word.  So don’t be surprised by those who do not believe Jesus when they attack the Word of God as untrue.  They do not have a clue.  They cannot understand.  But to us who know Jesus, His Word is understood and it is clear what is happening around us in this present time.

So, fellow followers of Jesus, let us rejoice that He opened our eyes.  And let us be praying for those in our sphere of influence “that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will” (II Timothy 2:25-26).  Yes, may this be so and may we have grateful hearts for what He has done in our lives, knowing that He can do this as well in the hearts of others who have yet to believe.  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So may it be all for Your honor and glory! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_FGVDVp6b8
