JESUS— GREATER THAN THE WISDOM OF SOLOMON WHICH HE GAVE!

JESUS— GREATER THAN THE WISDOM OF SOLOMON WHICH HE GAVE!

And Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing hidden from the king that he could not explain to her… the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon… —I Kings 10:3-4

Thus King Solomon excelled all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.  And the whole earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put into his mind. —I Kings 10:23-24

And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods. But he did not keep what the LORD commanded. —I Kings 11:9-10

The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, and now something greater than Solomon is here. —Matthew 12:42

The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the people of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom; and now something greater than Solomon is here. —Luke 11:31

The wisdom of God given to men will attract those seeking God’s wisdom.  Many from all over the known world at that time came to listen to the wisdom of Solomon and to have their questions answered.  He was able to answer them all.  Oh, that we had leaders like that today who have the wisdom of God and that could answer the questions of our time with God’s perspective and not out of worldly, fleshly wisdom that originates from below.

Yet even Solomon, who had our Lord appear to him twice, turned away in disobedience.  God was angry with Solomon and there would be consequences because of his unfaithfulness.  The kingdom would be divided because of him not obeying the Word of the Lord.  Be sure, our disobedience will bring consequences as well.  Whatever wisdom God has given us, we are stewards or managers of that wisdom.  Are we using it for His glory?  May it be so.

As wise as Solomon was, One came who was greater than Solomon.  The Lord said of Solomon “that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be” (I Kings 3:12).  The very One who told Solomon this was now among those He spoke this to.  Jesus, the One who gave wisdom to Solomon, is all Wisdom!  Yet, look how they treated this One.  They would not have ever treated Solomon this way because of his great wisdom.  But now the One who gives all wisdom was beaten, bruised, mocked, slapped, had His beard pulled out, flogged, humiliated, forced to carry His death instrument, crucified, died… BUT rose from the grave in victory, appeared to His followers over 40 days, ascended back to Heaven, promised to return and gave us His Holy Spirit until He does!  This is the One that people should flock to.  May we, brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, encourage those who do not know Jesus to come to Him.  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son and our Lord Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYu8ZyETnKo&list=RDBYu8ZyETnKo&start_radio=1&rv=XS_x0RRZrBY

By the way, as wise as Solomon was, all the learning and pleasure he pursued, what was his conclusion boiled down?  “Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.  For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. —Ecclesiastes 12:13-14  Hmmm… proper perspective as to who God is and being obedient to Him!  That’s it!
