DON’T HINDER CHILDREN FROM COMING TO JESUS!

Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth? —Luke 18:8

But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” —Luke 18:16-17

            Little children are trusting and expecting that good will be done to them.  This is the type of trust a person needs to be in the kingdom of God.  Evidence that a person does have faith and is in the kingdom of God is persistent prayer and not being discouraged from praying.  God will answer in His time.  Trust Him as a child trusts.

            How sad that children are kept from Jesus when He said, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.”  I wonder how Jesus feels when parents, our educational system and society in general keep children from coming to Jesus?  I am sure He is not too happy about it.

            Children are not born atheists.  They are influenced in that direction by adults— whether it is parents, adults in our educational system or adults in society.  Adults are the ones responsible for children, but the vast majority of adults keep children from coming to Jesus because they themselves do not know Him.

            As followers of Jesus, may we disciple our own children, our grandchildren and any other child that doors open for us to disciple.  Yes, may this be so, Dear Father, by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqe4xkD6FVk
