RUN THE RACE HE CALLED YOU TO
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” “Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.” But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. —Jeremiah 1:5-7
Have you not brought this on yourselves by forsaking the Lord your God when he led you in the way? —Jeremiah 2:17
It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another. —Psalm 75:7
Brothers and sisters, fellow followers/disciples of Jesus, consider that even before our Lord formed us in the womb—
- He KNEW us
- He SET US APART before we were born
- He APPOINTED US to good works (Ephesians 2:10) as He did Jeremiah
- He has SENT US (John 17:18) as He sent Jeremiah
- He told us to be OBEDIENT (John 14:21) as He did Jeremiah
- He told us to SPEAK WHAT HE COMMANDS (John 16:13) as He did Jeremiah
We need to remember that if we go out of the way He is leading us, then One who judges and “He brings one down, he exalts another.” So, let us be faithful to His call on our lives.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” —Hebrews 12:1-2
Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. All this for Your honor and glory and for the benefit of many others. So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8__CWlBbCo&list=RDk8__CWlBbCo&start_radio=1
