BEWARE OF THE DISOBEDIENT AND THOSE HOLDING GRUDGES

BEWARE OF THE DISOBEDIENT AND THOSE HOLDING GRUDGES

And the LORD said to Moses, “How long will this people despise me? And how long will they not believe in me, in spite of all the signs that I have done among them? —Numbers 14:11

But truly, as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD, none of the men who have seen my glory and my signs that I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and yet have put me to the test these ten times and have not obeyed my voice, shall see the land that I swore to give to their fathers. And none of those who despised me shall see it. —Numbers 14:21-23

And the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned and made all the congregation grumble against him by bringing up a bad report about the land— the men who brought up a bad report of the land—died by plague before the LORD. —Numbers 14:36=37

And Herodias had a grudge against him and wanted to put him to death. But she could not, for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and he kept him safe. When he heard him, he was greatly perplexed, and yet he heard him gladly. —Mark 6:19-20

Those who are disobedient and those who carry grudges are not to be trusted.  The disobedient want to do what they desire and not what our Lord desires.  They actually despise Him!  He works among the disobedient again and again, but they do not desire Him or His ways.  They are self-focused.  Do not trust them.  Those holding grudges are similar.  They will look for an opportunity to get their “revenge.”  We need to be aware of people like this as well.  Destruction is also in their path.

The glory of the Lord will fill the earth one day.  Those who see His glory now and despise Him unfortunately will end up eternally in the Lake of Fire (Revelations 20:15).  This is a place of “eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41).  How terrifying it will be to hear from Jesus, “Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”  I do not understand that place, but Jesus warned of it many times and, brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, we need to let people know of the seriousness of rejecting Jesus.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYZw0dfLmLk

Ten of the twelve spies were disobedient and died in a plague after they negatively impacted all of the Israelites.  These ten encourage the whole group to disobey the Lord and not go into the land.  That impacted the whole group for the next 40 years!

John the Baptist spoke the truth about the illicit marriage of Herod to his brother’s wife.  Herodias, Philip’s wife, “had a grudge against him and wanted to put him to death.”  But “Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and he kept him safe. When he heard him, he was greatly perplexed, and yet he heard him gladly.”  Herod was a confused man and Herodias just waited until the right time to act on her grudge.  She put Herod in a spot, using her daughter, where he felt the pressure to execute John and gave in to it.  Her wicked grudge was carried out.  Beware of those types of people.

We know that our Lord will, one day, bring about justice for all (Like 18:7-8).  Until then, let us be faithful and trust Him fully with our lives.  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pu2S9y3r0XE
