BE FAITHFUL IN THE MIDST OF UNFAITHFULNESS!

BE FAITHFUL IN THE MIDST OF UNFAITHFULNESS

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. —II Timothy 2:3:1-5

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. —II Timothy 4:3-4

Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. —I Timothy 4:1-3

We need to be aware of the times we are In.  Surely these things mentioned above have always been around to some degree.  It surely does appear that they are increasing.  Just today there was an article saying,  “Global meat consumption must fall to curb global warming, reduce growing strains on land and water and improve food security, health and biodiversity, a United Nations report on the effects of climate change concluded.” The world needs to eat less meat to save the planet, says UN | World Economic Forum (weforum.org) Talk about demonic teaching.  There you have it and it is not only the encouragement to eat less meat, but it is connected to climate change.  This is demonically motivated.

Surely the attitudes mentioned above are on the increase! — “People will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.”  Our culture is becoming more and more like this.

Also, many who profess the Name of Jesus “will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.”  Things that seem so obvious against God are being accepted by many who claim to know Jesus.  Their actions speak louder than their words.

We are told “that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.”  This is becoming more and more of a reality!

So, brothers and sisters, fellow followers of Jesus, what are we to do?  We are to cling to His Word and be about His business.  Nothing has changed for the followers of Jesus.  We are to be witnesses for Jesus and make disciples that obey Him.  No, nothing has changed for those who are truly following Him.  So, Dear Father, may I be and do what You desire by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  So may it be regardless of what the culture is doing around me!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8Sx_U0Ztr8
