FOCUS ON THE WORK OF OUR VICTORIOUS LORD!

FOCUS ON THE WORK OF OUR VICTORIOUS LORD!

And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain… And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins… And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied. But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead.  For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive… But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. —I Corinthians 15:14, 17-22, 57-58

What will keep you going in your walk with Jesus?  It is knowing that Jesus has indeed risen from the dead and because He has then we will also.  Our proclaiming the gospel is not in vain.  Our faith is not in vain.  Our faith is not pointless.  We are not in our sins and those who have died in Jesus are with Him now!  We have hope beyond this life and are not in distress. We have life beyond the grave in Jesus.  Yes, we have victory over sin, Satan, death, and hell because we called on Jesus to save us from these and to a relationship with Him.

So, because we are victorious in Jesus and know we are living for Him now and will be with Him forever, we are to “be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”  So, are we living like this?  Are we abounding in the work of our Lord?  Are we giving ourselves fully to the work of the Lord?  Are we working enthusiastically for the Lord?  Are we excelling in the work of the Lord?  Hmmmm…. Are we?  Please forgive me, Dear Father, for the times I am distracted away from the work I am to be abounding in.  Please help me to focus on the “work of the Lord” by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Oh, so may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8Sx_U0Ztr8
