TRUST OUR LORD’S GUIDANCE IN CONVERSATIONS AND DON’T RELY ON SELF ALONE!

Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. —Luke 21:14-15

            When we are in conversation with people, we can depend on our Lord to give us the words we need to say.  Many followers of Jesus do not share their faith with others because they do not know what to say.  This is depending on self alone and not the Lord.  We find when we take the step to share with others, our Lord guides us as we depend on Him.  We cannot depend on ourselves.

This was Moses’ big problem— he was depending on self and not the Lord— and he had been educated in all the ways of Egypt!  Listen to what he says—

“Moses said to the Lord, ‘Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.’  The Lord said to him, ‘Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”’ —Exodus 4:10-12

            Did you hear what our Lord said?  You are to go and He “will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”  We are to be faithful in going and He will be faithful in helping and teaching us what to say at the time we need to say it.

            I have seen this in my own life.  When we initiate a conversation, once we start our Lord guides us through His Holy Spirit.  So, let’s go and trust Him in our going today that as we talk with people about the Good News of Jesus, He will guide us.  Trust Him and not yourself!  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Yes, may this be our desire— to trust Him in all our conversations for the words to say. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcmqSfr1ENY&list=RDPcmqSfr1ENY&start_radio=1
